Autotrack for web: Collect everything, track anything
Today, we’ve launched Autotrack for web, which is an easy way to add events and collect retroactive data without technical skills. From now on, you will never have to worry about waiting for your developer to track metrics again.
We hear it all the time from customers and even experience it ourselves: sometimes, it’s hard to know everything that you want to track from day one. As your website and product evolve, the metrics that matter to your business can change. And yet, evolving your metrics to match what you’re tracking can be difficult.
For one thing, implementing your analytics and changing what you’re tracking can take up a lot of your developer’s time, whether from the get-go or for every new product launch. And then there’s the problem where you do decide to add or change events, and you don’t get the retroactive data you may be looking for in the first place.
Autotrack changes all of this. When you turn on Autotrack, it’s easy for any non-developer to start adding and changing events to your website. Instead of wasting precious engineering resources, you can simply go into the point & click editor to view, update, and add events on your site.
The best part is that from the moment you enable Autotrack, it’s all retroactive. We collect all of your event data on your website. That way, you never have to worry about starting from scratch when you want to analyze something new. You and your team can now focus on what really matters: finding ways to improve your business and better serve your customers, all based on the data.
With Autotrack, we also wanted to ensure that this feature was accessible and affordable for customers – so we only charge based on the data you actually use. We’ll be collecting all the data, but you won’t have to worry about it affecting your bill.
How do I get started?
It’s really easy! Just enable Autotrack for your project from the settings dialog inside Mixpanel, and that’s it. As soon as you enable, we’ll start collecting all actions on your website going forward. When you’re ready to analyze your data and create events, head to the point & click editor.
