What are the early signs that a product is on the right track to succeed?

Do you think being an engineer too long before entering a product role creates "tunnel vision"? Often, working in engineering prevents people from being able to view the business sides of a product. 

How do you prioritize user feedback when considering what to build next? 

For someone who has worked on the commercial side of the business (sales and acquisitions), what would you recommend to someone who is trying to leap into product management?

What advice would you give to someone who went from managing enterprise projects to being a partner in a startup and fulfilling the role of “product” manager?
