For every website visit, we run an Identity Resolution Engine that acts to understand if a visitor has been to the website before. Then, we recover any user IDs that were previously defined.
Third-party advertising and analytics tags are loaded only after this initial step.
When we load third-party tags, we ensure any returning visitor will be assigned the same user ID as in previous website visits.
Since advertising and analytics tags receive consistent user IDs, different website visits become associated with the same user.
This way, when a user converts, the Facebook/Google/etc pixel will know that this visitor is the same visitor that previously clicked on an ad and will manage to associate the sale with the click, making the sale reflect on advertising campaigns.
