
Why I joined Mixpanel as CEO: A new era in analytics

Today, I’m excited to share that I will be joining Mixpanel as CEO.
We are at a truly transformational moment. AI is accelerating how companies access insights, integrate data, and define success. Analytics workflows are being reshaped—becoming more accessible, more actionable, and more customer-centric for every type of user. Mixpanel has been at the forefront of this evolution for more than a decade: first pioneering product analytics in the era of mobile, scaling with the growth of cloud, and now leading at the dawn of AI.
Why now
This leadership transition comes from a position of strength. Mixpanel has launched major new capabilities like Session Replay (web and mobile), Experimentation, Metric Trees, and enhanced Warehouse Connectors, and expanded from product analytics into a broader digital analytics platform. With strong momentum across product and go-to-market teams, this is the perfect time to accelerate our next phase of growth.
I am deeply grateful to Amir Movafaghi, whose thoughtful leadership over the past 9 years has been instrumental in building the company we are today. Amir will continue to serve as an advisor to me, the board, and Mixpanel after September, ensuring continuity as we move forward.
Why Mixpanel
Throughout my career, deep customer understanding has been my north star—shaping how I lead, how I partner with teams, and how I build for scale. At Cloudflare, I helped scale product strategy through hypergrowth and IPO as Chief Product Officer. At Plaid, I worked across product and business units as President to drive cross-functional excellence. Across these experiences, I’ve seen the power of pairing customer empathy with operational clarity to unlock growth and innovation.
Mixpanel is uniquely positioned to do just that. Our heritage, platform, and customer base give us the foundation to pioneer the next era of analytics—one that is AI-powered, customer-first, and accessible across every team and department.

What’s next?
My first priority will be to listen and learn—spending time with Mixpanelers, customers, and partners to understand what’s working, where we can evolve, and how we can sharpen our strategy. While I don’t anticipate immediate changes, my focus will be on accelerating what’s already working:
- Continuing to invest in the features our customers care about most, from warehouse integrations to enterprise support to AI-powered workflows.
- Building a market-leading, AI-powered analytics platform that helps teams of all sizes understand their users and drive better business outcomes.
- Ensuring Mixpanel remains a trusted partner across departments—from product to marketing to data teams—delivering clarity, speed, and continuous innovation.
